Stand up to hate. Create something better.
Design Against Hate is a project for young people aged 18–25 who want to fight back against the manosphere and related online hate, including homophobia, transphobia and racism.
You’ll take part in a series of creative co-design workshops, where you’ll:
- Learn about the manosphere, including some of the common groups, how ideas spread, and its wide-reaching impacts
- Share your own experiences with like-minded peers
- Explore the overlap between the manosphere and other forms of online hate such as racism, transphobia and homophobia
- Learn new skills in design, collaboration and project development
- Work as a team to design and deliver (with our help) your own solution
The shape of your final project is up to you and could include a social media campaign, events, videos or something else entirely. You can see the project our first cohort created here.

Time commitment
The project is split into 2 main phases: co-design and project delivery.
The codesign phase consists of 1 all-day in-person and 2 shorter online workshops in October and November. Up to 15 hours of work may be required for project delivery; this will depend on the project chosen and will be flexible based on the capacity of participants.
The project will wrap up in the first few months of 2027.
- Co-design phase: Up to 8 hours of workshops over 2-3 months with optional check-ins in between. At this stage, we envision the first workshop being 4 hours in person, followed by 2, 2-hour online workshops
- Time required in the implementation phase will depend on project chosen. However this will be flexible based on the capacity of participants

What is design against hate?
Design Against Hate is a co-design project focused on tackling the misogyny and other hate that comes from the manosphere. The All Together Now team will work with a group of 20 young adults to design and implement creative, youth-led solutions that address online harm and make a positive impact in their local area and beyond.

Who can apply?
This project is open to people aged 18-25 who are based in NSW. We are currently recruiting for participants in the Shellharbour, Illawarra and surrounding regions, as this will be the location of our in person workshops in 2026. If you live a bit further afield but would be able to travel for the workshops, please feel free to also apply.
Do I need any special experience or skills to take part?
Nope! You don’t need any formal experience. We’re looking for people with ideas, lived experience, curiosity, or just a passion for change.
What’s involved with this program?
This project will have two main phases – the co-design phase and the implementation phase. In the co-design phase, you will take part in a mix of face-to-face and online workshops where we will explore the causes and impact of harmful online content and co-create solutions or interventions addressing this. In the implementation phase, you’ll work as a group to bring one of your solutions to life, with support from the All Together Now team.
What’s the time commitment?
- Co-design phase: The co-design phase will involve the following workshops
- In person (Shellharbour) – 10 October 2026, 10.00 am – 4.00 pm (including lunch)
- Online – 20 October 2026 & 3 November 2026, 5.30 pm – 7.30 pm
- Project development: You will be able to contribute to the project development in an opt-in basis based on your capacity
- Project wrap-up: There will be a final in-person session/ celebration in the first few months of 2027. Depending on the direction the project goes in, this could look like a final working bee, a launch for a campaign or an in-person event delivered by the group. We will decide the date of this in collaboration with the participants and confirm it in December so you can put it in your diary with plenty of notice.
What if I can’t make one of the dates?
All participants must attend the in-person workshop and it is important to make your best attempt to come to both online workshops. While we understand that life happens, in order to complete the program, participants can miss at most one session.
Is it paid?
You will receive a $300 Visa gift card on completion of the program.
Where will it be held?
Workshops will be held in person and online.
What sort of things might we create?
That’s up to you! In previous co-design projects we have run, young people have created resources like articles and podcasts, but don’t let that stop your ideas running wild! The campaign launched by our 2025 cohort can be found here.
Will the content be heavy or confronting?
We will be talking about some serious topics, like misogyny, gender-based violence and hate online. This can be confronting, especially for people with lived experience of hate.
