All Together Now is pleased to announce the appointment of Stijn Denayer as Chief Executive Officer from 15 December 2021.
Commenting on the appointment, Fariza Fatima, Chair of the Board, said that Stijn Denayer will help position All Together Now as an impactful, sustainable and resilient organisation.
“Stijn has been with All Together Now for a number of years and has been integral to the organisation’s recent achievements, developing and overseeing our highly successful projects and programs relating to right-wing extremism and conspiracy theories. With Stijn at the helm we are confident we can continue to develop All Together Now as an impactful and thriving organisation.”
Newly-appointed CEO Stijn Denayer said: “All Together Now’s work has always sought depth, producing innovative and evidence-based programs that promote racial equity and aim to create long-term change.”
“I look forward to continuing and strengthening All Together Now’s work and vision by working closely with community and all our stakeholders and by centring the voices of people with lived experience of racism and other forms of oppression. A lot of hard work still needs to be done in Australia to dismantle racism and its colonial logics, including white supremacy, whiteness and right-wing extremism. In 2022 we will be developing a number of new training and consultancy programs, so watch this space!”
Stijn Denayer has over 10 years of international experience working in the human rights field as a researcher, advisor and manager. He has developed expertise in a wide range of phenomena and systems that obstruct social justice at the local, national and international level, including racism, discrimination, right-wing extremism, hate speech, hate crime, and violations of minority rights. Before joining All Together Now, Stijn worked for the Indigenous Law Centre (UNSW) and for Unia, the National Human Rights Institution of Belgium. He has also held positions at several local and international human rights organisations in South Asia and the Middle East. Stijn holds degrees in literature, linguistics and international human rights law.
The appointment of a new CEO follows the departure of Priscilla Brice who, after founding All Together Now more than 11 years ago, decided to step down from her role as Managing Director in late 2021.
All Together Now is enormously grateful to Priscilla for her role in furthering its mission of educating Australians about racism, in the pursuit of racial equity. Priscilla will remain involved in the organisation as a Non-Executive Director on the Board.
Commenting on her departure, Priscilla Brice said: “It’s been an honour to build and lead this innovative, evidence-based and impactful organisation over the past 11+ years. Thank you to all of my amazing colleagues, past and present, for your leadership in this space.”
